Zoom Class Etiquette
Please mute your microphone when you aren’t speaking. This will help limit background noise. Generally, you are welcome to unmute yourself to ask questions throughout the class. Some instructors prefer to hold questions until the end of class, have a moderator ask on students’ behalf, or will open the floor for questions at a particular time. If this is the case, it will be communicated to you at the beginning of the class.
Please keep your questions brief and relevant to the current demonstration.
Please be courteous and respectful to all instructors, moderators, and peers.
Listen while other students are sharing & be mindful of your talk-time.
Be mindful of your activity if you put yourself on video.
Zoom Class Norms
We encourage students to join the Zoom meeting 10-15 minutes early to ensure the technology is working properly; you will be in the waiting room at this time, but being in the waiting room will let you know you are in the correct place. The instructor will let all participants into the meeting at the start of class. We strive to begin all classes promptly, on occasion due to circumstances outside of our control, class may begin a few minutes later than scheduled. Please be patient and know you are in the correct place, and we are working on beginning class if you are in the waiting room.
Please arrive to class promptly. We monitor the waiting room actively only for the first 30 minutes, so if you join later, there is a chance the instructor will not see that you are waiting to be let in.
All tech-related questions and comments should be directed to Terracotta, not the instructors. We especially don’t want this to take up your class time.
If there is a moderator on your class, send them a message in the chat, and they will be happy to help you.
If you are unable to reach the moderator, or there is not a moderator on your class.
You can call our support line at 425-200-4089 for tech-related concerns that require immediate attention
